P.A.C.E Project
In 2022, Tito Group deployed a team of six to install over 119km of signalling and power cables from the 17.9 km – 25.87km for the Porirua Area Capability Enhancements project. The installation was completed over a period of eight months and delivered as a subcontractor for Siemens the Signals Lead Contractor to Kiwirail.
The Pace Project had a number of capacity issues throughout its 8km length. By liaising with Kiwi Rail Project Managers we were able to ‘make it work’ by finding timely solutions to the challenges thrown up by existing ducting (laid 12 years ago) in challenging terrain.
The team mapped out each section of the project, identifying useable ducts and ensuring that the additional power and fibre cabling could be accommodated alongside the existing cabling.
Innovative thinking allowed us to overcome sections with no capacity for the new cabling by designing and manufacturing a custom collar. This cost-effective solution not only avoided the need for multiple ducts but also reduced traffic management requirements and significantly decreased the project time.
Tito Group collaborated proactively with the Kiwi Rail project managers, civils team, foremen, and quantity surveyor to ensure their work was well-coordinated with the wider project activities.
The project posed several challenges, including the need to work within ‘block of lines’ timeframes on the rail bridge, unpredictable weather conditions and multiple delays across dependent workstreams. Despite these challenging circumstances, Tito Group's extensive experience and strong relationship management enabled us to provide accurate quotes and develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions to successfully deliver the project in a timely manner and within the budget provided.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Trentham to Upper Hutt
As part of a larger project for Kiwirail, Tito Group installed three crossing locations within a tight timeframe. This involved installing cables and performing terminations with a focus on maintaining optimal health and safety practices throughout the project.
Prior to commencement time was spent thoroughly planning and reviewing health and safety protocols to ensure that all Kiwirail prequalification’s were met. This rigorous pre-planning was followed up with daily check-ins once the team was onsite to guarantee ongoing adherence to safety standards.
Given the number of contractors and subcontractors involved in the project, clear communication was essential to ensuring the success of the project. Tito Group liaised with Siemens, Kiwirail, and other subcontractors to coordinate activities and ensure that all documentation, cable running plans, and location and termination plans were reviewed and approved.
To manage storage logistics effectively, Tito Group worked closely with Siemens and Mainfreight to secure suitable offsite and onsite storage locations and coordinate delivery dates between the two sites.
Despite encountering some initial delays due to site preparation and the laying of ducts, Tito Group was able to recover lost time and deliver the project on time and without any budget overruns.
